Not all text is showing

I have a major problem!!!!!!!!!!! When I go to any web page part of the text does not show up. THis is not pictures but text. It also is missing on emails,
both outlook express, yahoo, hotmail. I have done all the maintenance stuff,
virus scans, spyware and adware scans. I have Windows XP. I have been on many chat forums and this problem is not on any. Has anyone heard of this and if so what can be done?????? I am trying to avoid wiping the computer clean.
Your help is greatly appreciated.

Can you be more specific as to what's not showing up -maybe post a screenshot?
