Not Certain If This Is Hardware Or Software But Please Help.

Recently, I have been having an issue where my computer randomly freezes, no warning, music cuts off, and everything freezes. Keys won't respond, mouse won't respond. Have to hard reboot.

I have updated drivers, I have did a factory reset. I don't know what else is happening, it has happened once or twice while just browsing but is more prone to doing it when gaming.

Also the track wheel on my mouse when scrolling down tends to just bounce around or not not work at all.

Have I somehow done something to my computer, please help!

Check your temps. Make sure the interior is clean of heat trapping dust and all fans are spinning properly. You may need to swap in a spare PSU to see what happens.

 

We have checked that, there is no indication that it is overheating, and I have recently used canned air to blow the dust out. I will talk with my husband (he built my PC) about your suggestion with the PSU.
