    Hi all,
Don't know if this is the right place to ask for help with this but I am not able to resolve a not genuine windows problem.
I click on their link to resolve the issue but non of my browsers will take it - uncluding the lastest IE.
I am still able to get Windows Updates.

    Help if you can please.

I notice the first image below appears before the second one.
I bought my pc as brand new over five years ago.
Or is this a ploy by Microsoft to try to get me to upgrade to Win10 - something I will never do with my current pc running Win7.

No. While they may nag you, they do not make your current OS not genuine.

Did you reinstall your operating system? When was it last working properly and did you install anything between that time and the time that you started getting that window? Did you just install Microsoft Updates?

You have to give as much info as you can.

    Hi LauraR,
I have never interferred with my operating system.
I often install and uninstall programs using third party uninstallers. This is about it.
I even ran a Windos Update this morning.

And I have checked through my control panel that I truly do have an activated genuine Windows operating system.
    My screen isn't black.
I keep getting the second nag screen.
That aside my pc runs fine.
I believe the pictures say it all.

What I want to know is:
How do I stop the command prompt from popping up

    because....

that in turn seems to bring up the second nag window telling me to resolve an issue I can't resolve.
I have run anti-virus and spyware scans too.

Well i would say this has to be a windows update issue.Or some type of installer you might have missed.

I use to get these as well and many others. There are ways to go about removing it.

Let's try a few things first.

A lot of times this can be a small application i have seen this type of issue with windows XP and Windows 7.

I would first look in the uninstaller section to see if any thing sticks out.

I would recommend on using either Iobit uninstaller or Revo for this type of issue.

IObit Uninstaller 5.4.0.119 Read more at: https://tr.im/1ItcA

Revo Uninstaller 1.95 Read more at: https://tr.im/1JlQp

Make sure all of your files and folder are visible. This could be a hidden file.

They are Majorgeeks links i have know idea how that happened.

And this option all so might help as well try it.

    Hi Coyote,
I am not uninstalling anything at the mo so the uninstallers are of no use.
The wga remover you suggest is not recommended for the average pc user.
    Thanks though.

I have a sort of complicated scenario for you to think about. I was researching DiagTrackRunner.exe, and I found it mentioned as part of the Customer Experience Improvement element of Windows. I no longer update Windows 7, since a year ago when the Windows 10 updates began. This is because MS began installing data mining software and other software geared to a move to Windows 10. I think this is why I don't find the C:\Windows\system32\compattel folder from your first picture on my PCs. At any rate, I think the updates idea may be the correct one. Maybe something in the DiagTrackRunner.exe program (from an update) is triggering your problem with the the Genuine Windows dialog.

I have a phone number you can call at MS about licensing issues if you would like to give that a try. When you are proactive, like calling ahead of an installation to verify a key or seeking resolution of a genuine issue, MS phone help is very helpful. Maybe you can get the issue resolved over the phone.

Here is the phone number. Say you have a licensing issue:

    DiagTrackRunner.exe reports back to Microsoft.
You need to remove/uninstall update KB2952664.

    Uninstalled KB2952664.
    Rebooted my pc.
Several minutes later and up to now still no more Genuine Windows pop up messages.

    THANKS A LOT - Eldon.

That KB2952664 may show up again. My notes indicate that June was the 20th appearance of that patch.
Keep notes so you don't accidentally install it in the future.

Alternatively, if you don't want to have to be constantly on your guard against this update, GWX Control Panel will automatically block it along with other Win 10 related updates provided you keep it running in Monitor mode.

GWX Control Panel is portable program that doesn't install on the pc.
Meanwhile I am getting the old problem again so I upload some screenshots.
It popped up twice. I didn't try resolving the problem before posting here again.

This is what I get when I run legit check.

Incorrect. GWX Control Panel comes in both installable and standalone executable forms.

Is your computer brand a home built or a store bought like Dell?HP..etc? If store bought there should be a sticker on the side or bottom with your real windows 7 serial. Retrieve that and then go to Control Panel..System...Scroll down and either click activate windows and then enter that serial or change serial to that.
