Not getting Dynamic IP Address

    On a Windows 2000 laptop I installed a Linksys Wireless Card and when I went back to the Xircom Lan Adapter my browser won't work - no IP??

    ipconfig/release /renew not working??

    are you using static or dynamic ip addresses?

    what happens when you type ipconfig /all

    Also, do you get an error message when the IP tires to renew? Does it just timeout ("unable to contact dhcp server request has timed out", or something similar IIRC), or do you get a different message?

    If I understand you correctly, and both adaptors are currently still installed (an you are just connecting via the LAN adaptor instead of the wireless), disabling the Wireless adaptor and (or course) making sure the Lan adaptor is enabled in device manager (r-click on "my computer", hardware tab, device manager) might help.
