Not really malware, but same premise.

I installed a program then decided I did not like it so I uninstalled it. Now I get the following error message that pops up every couple hours:

    "Error loading C:\Program Files\Paretologic\UUS2\UUS.dll

The specified module could not be found"

I uninstalled using the program itself and in the Control Panel's Add/Remove Programs... I even did a System Restore to a point before installation.

    Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

I probably should have mentioned that I of course tried Spybot and Adaware, but they are not picking anything up.

Run CCleaner ...both the cleaner and the registry ( make sure you do the backup when prompted).

This is not a malware issue, so I am moving it to software.

Look in the C:\Windows\Tasks folder for anything related to Pareto and delete it.

    Hello Bullseye

If you receive an error message which mentions the “UUS.dll” this file is associated with the ParetoLogic Updater service. This error may occur on startup and even after you uninstall the software. We are currently aware of the issue and our QA team is working on a solution. Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience.

In some cases after the ParetoLogic software has been uninstalled the updater service entries in as the Windows scheduled tasks.

To open Scheduled Tasks, click Start, click All Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click Scheduled Tasks. Search the list of Windows Scheduled Tasks of entries associated with the ‘Pareto Update’ or ‘Pareto UNS’. Delete these entries and let us know if the issue persists by sending an email to helpdesk@paretologic.com

    Kindest Regards
    Laura

Thank you to all above! I have never used CCleaner and the amount of crap in there is staggering. Kind of like the first time I ever ran Adaware years ago.

CCleaner did NOT fix the problem, but I did follow Laura's instructions and deleted everything in the Scheduled Tasks.

Thank you too Chaslang, I just happened to read hers first.

    Thanks again for the help.

Sorry I posted in the wrong forum.
