Not sure if i'm in the right forum...

My power supply burned out the other day...went to best buy and purchased a new one...400 Watt, not a huge system for me. I think I've installed porperly except that when i turn it on it tries to boot Windows 98...I have Xp. it says it can't find certain 98 files and won't start...any clues fellas? any help would be greatly appreciated. Also i'd like to say thank you for this site...you've helped me with malware in the past.

 

Well I dont know why thats happening but I do know it has nothing to do with your power supply.

 

that's all you did was replace the powersupply? this wouldn't do that.

try putting in your xp disk and using the repair option to restore the mbr

 

yeah see...not sure if i have the xp disk anymore...think i can get it sent back out to me...but i have no idea why this happened....it just acted out since the power supply ordeal...maybe it needs prozac? I just wanted to make sure I installed the supply properly...
