Not sure what driver to use, HELP!!

I installed a new hard drive, did fdisk and format, installed Windows 98SE, and now I am having a problem with drivers. I have nVidia Riva TNT Diamond Viper v550, the driver I chose is v550770_w9x_368. I downloaded it and installed it, now Windows does not seem to recognize it. I only have a choice of 2 colors or 16 colors and only have 1 choice of screen size 640 X 480. I have done this procedure before on other computers and have been successful after overcoming some problems. I am not sure I installed the driver correctly. I clicked on it in Windows Explorer and it appeared to load, but I could not get it to work so I used the run command to try again, and it again appeared to load. I'm not sure if the problem is the wrong driver, or the correct driver and me just not knowing how to correctly install it. I know just enough about computers to be dangerous.
