not sure whats going on with this computer

Okay, I would really appreciate everyones help. I have virus scanners on my computer, etc. I have an HP, running Windows XP, regularly scan my computer for viruses; the works.

I scanned the computer and it found one, and I simply deleted in. I believe it may have been called winfix. The symptoms are this: I turn on the computer, and it shuts off the hard drives, the screen goes entirely blank, and thats it. It gets to the windows loading screen occasionally. I press f9, try to get into safe mode; it shuts down the hard drives. So, what can I do folks?

Try using the SYstem Restore to get back to where you were before the delete.

If you haven't used the System Restore before, use Help and it will walk you thru the process.

Then, try another form for advice on how to clear up the potential virus/spyware issue.

Opps..lost a couple of sentences from the beginning....

Use your system CD to boot up first.

Then try the System Restore......
