Not sure where this belongs but I need help with CPU Identification in XP

I just installed an Athlon Xp2500+ in place of my 2400+ (don't ask, I got suckered), 1gb PC2700, and in Device Manager and System Information it reads the CPU type as a bunch of symbols.

Checking Processor in Device Manager, it is loading AMDK7.sys, which it should be, but I can only assume the .inf doesn't contain the information for my CPU.

I have the CPU running at 1831mhz, which is should be. It does see the speed correctly.

Where do I go from here?

 

BTW, I already removed it from Device Manager and rebooted. That didnt help.

 

NM, by BIOS reads it as garbled as well.

Any ideas?

 

BIOS update fixed it> Who woulda thunk?
