Not Sure Whether To Get A Console & Which Exactly?

OK, I've been a PC gamer for around 10 years now with the occasional console here & there. I've just recently sold my World of Warcraft account for $170 as I was admittedly addicted to the game and it was starting to take over my life. I'm extremely happy to be rid of it now anyway. My time was so focused on WoW, that I chose to ignore all the other great games which were coming out for around 2 years now.

Now that I'm rid of WoW, I've decided to possibly get a console instead. The thing is...

    A) I'm not sure whether to get a console or stick to PC gaming.
    B) If I WAS to get a console, I'm not sure which console to get.

It costs money to keep upgrading my PC for all the latest games, although with a console you can play near enough ANY game without having to ever upgrade. Yes, the graphics may not match a PC but at the end of the day they're not terrible.

Anyway, I'm stuck in a rut now to be honest. I've spent quite a large amount of cash over the past few years upgrading my PC and I don't particularly want to leave it for a console, but on the other hand due to the points I made above regarding price etc, a console seems like it'd be a good choice. The other thing I like about consoles is the fact that you can play racing games, 3rd person games (Assassins Creed for one) etc WITH a pad which is (in MY opinion) better than playing them with a keyboard.

If I was to get a console, what are the main differences between the 3 main ones (Xbox 360, PS3, Wii) and is there any particular reason I should go with one over the other two?

Thank you very much in advance, and I'll appreciate anybody who can help me make my mind up! :)

Oh you're gonna get some biased replies in here lol
I say stick with PC AND get a console lol

If you want a console I personally recommend a PS3.
    Why?
Much more powerful and future proofed than ...the others lol
Awesome exclusive titles such as Gran Turismo, Uncharted, Metal Gear Solid, God of War and many more.

    Online is Free.

    Built in Blue Ray/Divx/DVD/CD player.

    Lightweight built in charger Controllers.

    Built in Wireless/Blutooth.

The list is endless, you will need to research it yourself though because anyone you ask will give you advice based on their preference.

By the way I have an Xbox 360 as well and I'd go for a PS3 every time.

Having said that both of them are dead lol, Xbox went waaaaay before PS3 with much less use.

Personally I like PC gaming however if I was to buy a console I wound lean towards 360 for online play however PS3 has better hardware and free online play built in wi-fi bluray player etc.

Wii isn't meant for hardcore gaming it's meant for light gaming.

I think I'm gonna go ahead and get myself an Xbox 360 then. I guess there's nothing stopping me from playing games on a console AND the PC. I'll most likely just leave the PC for playing First Person Shooters and other games which are more PC friendly, and I'll use the Xbox for playing sports, racing & 3rd person games etc.

    Thanks again :)

You want to play racing games and you're going for a 360?

Did you not see me mention Gran Turismo? Never will be available on Xbox, as far as I know Xbox has no decent racing game exclusives.

Don't get me wrong, you go for whatever, but don't make a mistake because popularity swings that way.

Also, I have to disagree with PClover (sorry dude lol) I don't see why people say Xbox is better online other than you can use MSN, I've played both and didn't notice much difference at all......apart from the Xbox made my wallet lighter lol

I have both a 360 and a PS3, and I haven't turned the 360 on in nearly a year, since I find the PS3 to be superior. Just to let you know. :)

However, Xbox Live has been around for longer than PSN, so it has a larger user base, which in turn helps the online experience. Not that I'd know... I do no online multi-player gaming. I play video games to get away from people, not to interact with them. ;)

Oh, and I have a pad for my PC games. It's a Logitech wireless one, and it's working great in XP.
