    Hello all,

I keep getting the BSOD (PAGE_NONDEFAULT or whatever it is) and I am pretty sure it's a driver update or an update in general. Is there any way, or any guides on here, to find out which driver is causing it? Oh, it also says acerdrv.sys, or something similar.

If anybody could at least point me in the right direction to get this rectified, I'd really appreciate it.

    Thnx!

    Hi

    Which Windows version you using?

But to help we would need the exact BSOD code as incomplete text from the error could mean anything and the full code can help trace a problem quicker.

Boot into safe mode F8 at boot and does this still happen?

Could also run this guide here HOW TO: Debug Memory Dumps (Figure out what is causing a BSOD) and then attach the text in a notepad file with these instructions HERE

    Hi

The main BSOD code you have links to this http://support.microsoft.com/kb/329293 a bit extreme in many cases, so what have you installed or updated of late, be that hardware, software or a driver?

Do you have any yellow ! marks in device manager, if so what?

Would initially personally try this and re-install the chipset driver first from below link and reboot and then install the audio driver

    http://support.gateway.com/support/drivers/search.asp?st=pn&param=1015553R

Would also give your PC a quick malware scan or two and run this HERE but if anything found start a thread in our malware fourm and attach the logs requested.

    Halo,

I re-installed the drivers you suggested and ran all of the malware scans (nothing was found).

Since I cannot remember when this started happening exactly, I cannot think of any updates that started causing this.

As for any exclamations in the device manager, there are some under the Network Adapters...screenie attached.

I'd like to offer my help if I may...

I when I get the BSOD I use Windows Debugger tool to open the dump file in a readable text format. The dump once in text format can tell you what specifically went wrong...what memory address...the files that caused the stop...and the kind of Blue Screen error stop making it easy to pinpoint the faulty file and/or cause. Once you open the .dmp file with the debugger..copy and paste it to a notepad document and post it back here. The dump file should be in C:/Windows/minidump depending on what version of Windows you use. But most likely it is in that directory. The link to the debugger is http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/devtools/debugging/installx86.mspx#a

    Well,

I've tried everything I could on several boards. I even updated to windows 7. I am starting to now think its a hardware issue.

Any more ideas? The only thing I can think of is do a full format and start fresh :(

Here is my latest BSOD report...

    Hi

Too many random BSOD errors to link it to one specific cause I'm afraid, could be linked to some of the drivers so what I would try and especially as you are concidering a re-install (make sure you backup all your important files and doc and settings like IE or Firefox Favs and Export Email Accounts etc) is to open Device Manager and right click and uninstall all of those that show a Yellow ! mark,

Once that is done and you rebooted run this Network Troubleshooter HERE

But I rarely advise an update from one OS to a newer one, always suggest a clean install as being much better.
