NoT thermalright?

I just "borrowed a few heat sinks off of an apple g4 (doesnt work) that ive got laying around and I was wondering if there was an alternative to thermal paste/pad. Something like double stick tape or something? Or should i just go buy some thermal paste? Im going to use the heatsink for my southbridge.

 

That double stick tape will just make it worse. Thermal paste shouldn't cost more than $.25. Just a guess here on the costs. We, at work, have tons of thermal paste laying around. Just wish we had more pens.

 

Lol the only place in town that sells thermal paste charges $9.95 for one little tube... rip.. off! thats why i was asking, something like CA glue or just put tape over the top of the heatsink....

 

If you were in the Indiana area, we'd give you some for free.

I'd hunt around for a local "ma and pa" computer joint and ummm beg for some. We have people coming in all the time.

 

lol too bad i dont live in Indiana.. I know a ma and pa kinda store but.... ive been banned from their store... I was walking to the vid card section and all the sudden a rack of new PC's fell over onto the floor, they were banged up BAD... they blamed me and said that i could either pay em or get banned... But once i get my watercooling setup ill use some thermal paste off that heheh
