Not too confident about using HijackThis.

Hi, i'm helping a friend out with her computer which has been having loads of problems. She's on ME. One of the main one has been a very very slow response to trying to access sites even though she's on broadband. Some she can't even get to. I've run everything suggested on the sticky here and the Spybot Search and Destroy appeared to pick up tons of stuff including a couple of hijackers so at least we know that she has virtualy no crap now on her system.

Thing is she is still finding her system very slow on the net and the only thing left to do on your sticky here is the Hijacker programmes which seem very daunting for a technophobe like myself. Most of the times when these processes are mentioned here they are accompanied by a "do this as a last resort" or "doing this can bugger up your computer if you don't know what you're doing" type warnings which is fine if i'm dealing with my own computer but not someone elses.

She does apparently have a lot of programmes on there, she is big into music and stuff so has lots of profesional music programmes on there, she has 20Gb of space on it......i presume this is ok?

Just need a bit of reasurance about the hijack tools before thinking about using this if indeed i do at all.

If you've done the tutorial and are still having problems, then run HiJackThis and save your log as a txt file. Then upload it to a post in this thread and someone will take a look at it and help you through it.
