notebook battery replacement question

Hello,

Does anyone have any knowledge of aftermarkent replacement batteries. I recently replaced a battery on my HP zv5000 series notebook. I replaced a 346971-001 with a 346970-001. It was working fine till I hit hibernate. On power up it gave me a message saying battery was incompatible, remove and replace. I searched around to see if this was something I could overlook but found no conclusive evidence. Is message something I can ignore (proprietary) or should it be headed?
