You know how when you unplug your notebook and run it on battery power, the screen becomes dimmer? Well, my notebook seems to run just opposite. Please tell me how to fix this so I don't have to have my notebook (HP Pavillion zv6100) on battery power just to have a decent lighted screen.

If its an XP laptop, go to Control Panel > Power Options, and then check your settings in there. I'm on a desktop right now, so I don't really know, but I'm pretty sure its something in there.

If not, check if theres a button for display brightness on your HP's keyboard, my mom's Powerbook has that, but then again that's an Apple.

Check the BIOS, there should be a setting that will allow you to change the brightness for AC and Battery power.

I accidentally forgot to plug my notebook back in last night. It ran until the battery got low and it turned itself off. Now everything is back to normal. Weird.

    Thanks for your help.
