The election is over and what is done, is done. Now that the excitement of the election is over....now what? Anyone have any idea as to what the next exciting activity will be?

(this is just a crap thread to make people post something, rather than sitting her looking as a screen that isn't doing anything)

Holidays are a given. I was thinking about more drama. Government intend to do some bad choice spending? One of the Bush family have any nasty habits?

I can see bush doing his most stupidest act since he became president the first time since this time he doesn't have as much to wory abotu. i mean, hes president for a second time, hes already beaten his opponent, so he has nothign to worry about. I mean, it won't be like that, but it wont be good.

i get what u mean... he doesn't have to worry about not getting re-elected

I think Bush will look for a more elaborate way to gain interest of the media. Bush has a need to get attention. So far, I have pegged him as a whiner, but then again I really don't follow up on him. Now Clinton, I just loved that guy. He should have been a movie star. He created great drama and always portrayed the bad boy.

Nah, Bush has no worries. Al-Qaeda, Sudan, Israel, Syria, North Korea, Putin stripping freedoms in Russia and looking more like the ex-USSR official that he is, drugs, economy, the U.N., ..... He can just lay back & play for the next 4 years.

Why is it that those that don't agree with him, all seem to think that he has no concience and no convictions? There is no conscience but a liberal conscience? No intelligent thought except for liberal thought? How arrogant! What you've seen for the last 4 years is pretty much what he IS; he doesn't govern by polls and popularity contest. The next 4 years will likely be pretty similar to the last 4, subject to change by circumstances that come up.

I don't agree with everything he's done either, and I could wish that he was an eloquent public speaker, but he's NOT the two dimensional joke that so many liberals try to make him.

And I always thought that Clinton was the biggest cry baby I've ever seen. Always blaming the Republicans for everything that went wrong, but always taking credit for anything that went right.

I agree, he is what he is. I don't agree with some of the stuff he does. In fact, I don't like how he handles some things either. I am more of a wrath person, I would have bombed the heck out of Israel by now. North Korea would be the next place I would blow up. I would be a ruthless President

I am still waiting for Bush to do something dramatic though. No votes to re-count, no complaining about a previous Presidents antics, no complaining about missing furniture, no complaining about wanting other countries or the UN not backing his cause, so what's next?

Well the next exciting activity for me will be going to bed. I have been up 41 hours straight. I never left the TV, and watch election coverage through the night. I was so excited, and gun hoe. Every state that fell put me even closer to insanity. ;) I am glad it is over, but the outcome is not in my liking. It will take time for me and my family to accept the loss, but at least we can relax. Well until Mr. you know who decides to do something that will get me fired up again. Also today i was loaded with homework, so that is what i am doing right now. I cant wait to get to sleep. :)

That was very puzzling to me too! I was in Walden Books the other day, and in the "True Crimes" section there was a wall dedicated to George Bush, and his administration. People here where so passionate about the election, and time for change, the way people voiced there opinion, and the way they stuck it to people, gave me the up most confidence that Bush would loose. I am very confused.

I'm going to call this one as I see it. It's just my opinion. Bush was not the best man for the job, but there was no one better running. In the state the country is in, Bush is the only one that might be able to pull the country back on it's feet as he is partially responsible for the shape it's in. Kerry would have been a very big mistake at this time. Give him different circumstances, he may be a great President. Considering all things, Kerry would have destroyed the country. Give the people a better choice than those two, the outcome would have been different.

    That is my opinion. ;)

That's why Bush is the only one that might be able to clean up his own mess. Now if given a better candidate, then I could see someone else cleaning up after Bush.

  27. Anon-15281db623

    Anon-15281db623 Anonymized

Bush will not be able to clean this up. Before he was active in politics he managed several companys, most of them oil companys. Every single one of those companys where driven into the ground under his watch. His dad, and Saudi investors where constantly called in to take over, and bring back the company. If Bush cant keep a simple oil business, up and running, how can we expect him to keep our county stable, let alone even beginning to dig him self out of his hole.

Today, there was a class discussion on why bush won (my class is very democratic by the way).
    Some reasons include:

    1) There was a population shift since 2000 and people moved to other states (which happened to be republican states). So since population is less, the democratic states lost electorial votes, while the population of republican states increased and won votes.
    2) Rich people like Bush
    3) People think that kerry won't do a good job on the "war on terror"
    4) Catholics like Bush becoz of the abortion issue. It is shown in some site that Catholics and Protestants (the majority) voted for Bush more and ppl with no religion (minority) voted for Kerry.
    5) The election was rigged (not that i believe it)

I forgot the rest of the reasons....

  32. Anon-15281db623

    Anon-15281db623 Anonymized

Yes that is very true. However, there is not much push. The Republican have control of the Senate, The House, and are looking forward to placing favorite pick judges in the Supreme Court in the near future. He basically has the go ahead to do what ever he wants. There will be no pressure from a democratic controlled anything, and right now he has 51% of the voting public. There really is no pushing or shoving.

I also want to add, he doest need to worry about getting reelected.

BINGO! I didn't want to say it, but now that you have....that was my reason for not wanting Kerry in as Pres. That may be the main reason he wasn't elected. He's also tucks tail too quickly. Face it, he should have waited for all the votes to be counted.

  34. Anon-15281db623

    Anon-15281db623 Anonymized

Very good points. There was a population shift. Many people have moved to take advantage of low interest rates.

Yes rich people do like bush. There all getting a big tax cut. Money goes to money.

People think Kerry would not do good on the war on terror, because he actually believes we should try diplomacy first. He is not a shoot em up cowboy.

This abortion issue is driving me crazy. Both candidates are against abortion. Kerry supports a womens civil right to choose. If it comes down to religion, God gave us the 10 commandments to live by. If we broke one of them that was our decision. If a women wants to kill her unborn child its her decision, and she will have to suffer the consequicnes far down the road. If God did not want us to make our own decisions he would have made it so we couldn't.

This is always an issue that comes up. The election was rigged. I believe this year was far better then other times. There where no major contravercies, and everything seemed to move smoothly. However there is always Suspicion in my mind.

He did wait for all the votes to be counted. After Bush got Ohio, it was useless for Kerry to wait for the other remaining states. Even if all the remaining states supported him, the total votes won't put him ahead of Bush.

  36. Anon-15281db623

    Anon-15281db623 Anonymized

Yes he should have waited. However the chances that he could pull it off where so low. I can see why he conceded. He needed 93% of the disputed votes. Not likely. He did not want to send this election into a long waiting game, with lawyers, judges, and countless lawsuites. He believed the people have spoken, and have made there decision.

it was still within a reasonable range that he could have and should have waited. He tucked tail.

    Anon-15281db623 Anonymized

I really can not say that. Being president was a life long dream. There is nothing he wanted more. 93% is not a very reasonable range. That is 93% of the disputed votes. It is possible that most of thoses votes could have been thrown out. There was just not enough number wise to say it was possible he could have won.

Now i was in his position. I would have fought to the death. That is me though.

    Iran - Maybe.

Another terrorist attack - Always a possibility, with or without Bush. There were over a half-dozen on Clinton's watch, including the first attempt to take down the WTC; that one just wasn't successful.

Hillary, Nader, and Arnold - all likely.

Trip to Mars is in long term planning; likely won't happen on Bush's watch.

The rest are bed-time stories liberal mothers tell their kids to scare them away from conservatives. The liberal version of Grimm Fairy Tales.

You never have, and likely never will. There are ALWAYS exceptions, always, but in general Democrats and their supporters have been move vocal and more vicious than conservatives for many years. That doesn't make them right, and that doesn't make them the majority, it just makes them more noticeable.
