nprotect folder

made a mistake trying to delete the nprotect file from systemworks 2003.
Copied cut and pasted it on my desktop and now i need to replace it but i dont know where it came from

Any ideas...

I think nprotect relates to norton protected recycle bin.If you delete nprotect you will be stuck with any files that it has protected and you won't be able to get rid of them.

Just place the file where it should be and turn off norton protection for your recycle bin if it bothers you.

 

The problem is im left with this file with 65000 files of an unknown type. when i check for viruses or spyware it picks these up.. tying to delete it was a big mistake though as i dont know where it came from

Tried putting it in the antivirus folder as suggested uninstalled norton and its still there complete with files
C:\Program Files\Norton AntiVirus\AdvTools\NPROTECT.EXE

 

I think you have right click the recycle bin,bring up properties and unprotect these norton protected files to be able to get rid of them.

Been a long time since I had used nortons.

 

Because i have moved the folder from its original location any fix i try doesnt seem to work

 

it could also belong to this directory, if you have it:

C:\Program Files\Norton SystemWorks\Norton Utilities\

try putting it there.
