nt4 no more DC

    Hey there do you guys and girls know how to change a NT4 DC to just a plain old file server? No domain is needed..have a SBS2003 up but would like to keep the old dog around.

    To my knowledge, the only way to change a DC to a member server is to reinstall. The choice of whether to be a DC or a member server is made when the OS is first installed and cannot be changed.

    There is some third party software that will do what you want. It costs $100, but that might be well worth the cost in saved time and service.
