ntbackup issue?

    i use ntbackup to backup my exchange server mailbox store. it used to be about 500gb backup file but just today it decreased in size to about 15gb after last nights normal backup. doesnt seem like it should be that small since the store itself is 30some gb. any ideas on what could be causing that?
