    Yeah so Grrrr...

Windows 98, old PC was won in a draw, no modem... Bought a dialup modem to set up dialup internet...

modem is a V.92 Conexant Churchill PCI modem, device manager says device won't load because of ntkern.vxd and configmg.vxd fail to load it, I installed both drivers in the system folder and VMM32 folder.

Looked around on the web... Microsoft says delete a couple of lines from the autoexec.bat, those lines aren't even in the autoexec.bat, I can only access the net from my office so when I get home I try what I learned via the web, very frustrating... tried uninstalling, reinstalling, changing PCI slots, removing network card... Arrrgghh....

Now I see that it may be a USB IRQ conflict? Thinking of disabling USB from BIOS, is that possible?... I'm Not even using the USB... Generic modem... Not even a website link in the box.... I hope this post gets me an answer.... Thanks...

I'm ready to chew my keyboard... It's second hand so I won't...
