Ntkern.vxd

Can someone please tell me what this means and how I can fix it, I found it under my Processer Support Properties and this is what it says The ntkern.vxd device loader(s) for this device could not load the device driver. (Code2)

I've had a couple of people tell me to run sfc and type in NTKERN.VXD and extract it from my win.98se cd and send it to C:/windows/system and then to C:/windows/system/vmm32 and it should be all set, well guess what it didn't work,and no its not an error.

 

Maybe I am wrong about this, but I thought that NT was for the newer windows system files, like 2000 or XP. kern should stand for the kernel file I am thinking .vxd I have no idea. Maybe video driver file I am guessing. But you said you have 98se, and this is on your 98se installation disc ? Have you tried to save it to a location on your pc and try to open it ? If Windows says it cannot open the file it should give you the option to find the file extention type from the net. Can you connect to the internet ? If you do that and can connect then you should be able to find what it is that way. I have had to do that with my system before. Just a thought, but I am only a newbie at this stuff, maybe you have already do that, don't know. But I would try it if you don't get help as you can always delete it from the local you save it too. But that's just my opinion, and I am only new member here learning also. CT

how can I get my computer to stop asking me Microsoft Windows 98 Startup Menu everytime I boot up becuase I want it to load normal. Any Ideas?
