NTLDR is compressed message

    NTLDR is compressed message
    This message appeared night immediately, but soon after I had added some memory to my XP Pro SP3 Dell dimension 4500.
    I do have an installation CD if that helps. When I tried to follow the Dell help support in the recovery console, it would not recognize the command C:\WINDOWS>x:\i386\ntldr c:\.
    Any suggestions as to where to go from here? Thank you for your assistance. I haven't had time to work on this since I last wrote. :confused

    Boot into the recovery console:

    #1 At the prompt, if C:\WINDOWS, type:
    cd c:\
    #2 At the prompt, type:
    attrib -c ntldr
    and then press Enter .
    #3 At the prompt, type: exit
    #4 Press the Enter key and immediately remove all discs or diskettes from the computer to allow the computer to restart.
    The error message should be resolved.
