I have this show up and ask me to press a key to reboot and when I do the system will boot to my SATA drive, the computer originaly had the boot files on my other hard drive which was an IDE, and the windows files were on the SATA how do I get rid of this message when Windows XP boots, the SATA drive is working perfectly as the boot ?

MBR didn't list NTLDR in the right place is my guess.

Where is your NTDLR file located? Sounds like it was originally on the IDE Drive. I have attached a copy of its location and the boot.ini on my computer, sounds like your system does find it, just not on the first try, so possibly you could copy it to the correct location.
You could also try msconfig and check all boot paths. Sorry couldn't be of more help. Hope you get it settled.

I am sorry but this happens even before a windows boot starts and I just want to get rid of the message my SATA drive boots perfectly.

Like I said the boot files used to be on the IDE drive those files were deleted after I got the SATA drive booting properly.

I'd like to help you, but I'm a bit confused on what you're saying. confused

    Sorry it's been a busy day.
Anyways, you're saying you used to boot from the IDE drive and now you boot perfectly from the SATA drive, but you get that message at boot up?

Is this a hard drive jumper or BIOS issue in changing what is the first boot device? confused

There is a solution to repairing the NTLDR here:
I was going to type my instructions, but this may be better. This may not help you though, as you are no longer using the IDE drive that is causing your problem (I think). confused:eek:
