NTLDR is missing

    When I turn on my HP w/ windows2000 NTLDR is missing. I downloaded a floppy from tinyempire.com with no results. What should I do???

    Since you are already there, did you follow the rest of the directions on the tinyempire site to correct the MBR and check for hardware failure that could also result in an "NTLDR is missing" error?

    hi,

    have you tried copying the boot.ini, ntldr and ntdetect.com files over (via floppy) from a known good system

    (i run w2k and have had that message)

    Generally speaking, ntldr is going to be more related to the bootsector than the MBR...

    Can you boot to the 2k recovery console and run fixboot, along with the previous suggestions?
