Ok... first off... I have tried the MBR route, I have reset the boot sequence, and have even tried to use fdisk (from a 98SE boot) and here's a catch for you... I can view the partition, but cannot access the c: drive at all. It's a XP home machine, and I can't get the windows disc to boot. Even more quirky, there are 2 CD drives, a ROM and a RW, bios is only registering one active removable drive, save for the a: drive of course. I'm thinking it might be the hdd, but can't for the life of me figure out why the ROMs won't read. This particular bios has an option to select the boot drive on start up, from the post screen. Tried that... in both ROMs, nothing. Anyone have any idea?

    Thanks,

What happened prior to this problem occouring?

It sounds like it could be a master/slave cable problem, but if you've not changed the configuration then thats obviously not the case.

Just shut the computer down and this happened. Can't get past the post screen, tried using the fdisk, but the while the partition for the OS is there, Says the C: drive doesn't exist.

Ok, I'm at a total loss. I just checkes all the cables to all of the drives and everything is fine... does anyone have any clue as to what to do here. I am totally baffled.
