    Hi

I had broadband installed recently but they were unable to install it in my attic as they couldn't drill out through the roof. They had to install the modem downstairs. I purchased a wireless router & that solved my problem. It was a 54 mbps beklin wireless router & a usb adapter. This is not really a networking query as such as I only have my 1 computer connected, but I think it is a network issue. Ever since I set up the router my firewall (Sygate) brings up a popup message saying NTOSKRNL.EXE has been blocked, even if I allow it. I don't know if I need this program to run, but have noticed that my connection has been a little slower recently & don't know if this could be the problem. If I don't need this program to run I would be very greatful if someone knew away to disable it as my firewall keeps telling me it has blocked it every 5 minutes. If I do need it then does anyone know how to allow Sygate to run it, yet keep my computer secure?

    Thanks

Thank Star17, I ran the scan & had a few pieces of the old malware which I have now removed. I will enable ntoskrnl.exe if it is safe to do so the only problem is I don't know how to enable it. In sygate when I click ALWAYS allow it still brings up a pop message saying it has been blocked?? any ideas?
