NTVDM CPU error... caused by spyware?

I need help with this issue as well. Went to the Microsucks website, but found nothing that wasn't similarly confusing. Here's what I am getting when I try to run DOS-based programs on my system (running XP):

"The NTVDM CPU has encountered an illegal instruction. CS: 05cf IP:0410 OP:63 6d 64 70 72. Choose close to terminate this application."

What in the world is THIS? How do I correct the issue so that I can use my DOS-based programs?
