Try Shift + Num Lock

 

Numbers and/or NumLock on laptops.
If, when you are typing on your laptop, and numbers come up instead of letters.
First thing is to carefully read ALL the manuals that came with your laptop.

On my old Gateway laptop, pressing the Fn key (green coloured text, on a special key) + Function key F9 (with Pad Lock written in green on it), turns the numbers ON and OFF.

Look at every key on your laptop keyboard and you will probably see something similar.
Different manufacturers use different key markings and key combinations.

I would recommend plugging in a normal keyboard whenever you are using your laptop from a fixed position, ie., at home. A hell of a lot more convenient.
Then you can just press the NumLock key, on and off, however you like it. Bazza
