Both my son and I use firefox. A couple days ago we started getting redirected when searching google. Then I got a message that my firewall was turned off and then that my avast was off. I turned them both back on and over the past days I've run the spyware programs numerous times. They've caught a lot of things but there must still be something there. Last night when my son was on the computer it all started again. The firewall and antivirus were turned off. I have run everything again today. The spyware programs show nothing because it got everything the past couple of days. Firefox takes a while to come up when I click it, which it didn't before and I have a message that Windows automatic updates is turned off when it's actually on. Can someone help me figure out what I need to do to clear it all up? Thank you! :)

Okay then are you still having redirection problems for the user account that you attached all of your logs from?

I haven't used it today except to run everything. Last night the redirection was all on my son's account. Should I switch to that user and run everything there? I assumed it checked the whole computer because when I ran the spyware programs they found things from his account even when I ran them on mine. Do I need to run everything on his account or just certain programs? Thanks so much for your help.

Yes! If your son's account is the one having problems then that is the one we need to see logs from.

There is nothing in the logs you have posted thus far.

They will scan and find certain things but not necessarily everything when scanning from a different account. In addition, programs like MGtools and to some degree ComboFix will help us see more information related to the specific user account when they are run from that user account.

But you do need to check to see if the redirections are still occurring and you need to tell us whether they occur in all user accounts or in only certain user accounts. Also do they occur no matter what broswer is user?

One thing you can delete is the below file:
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\5162qny2ob203v1p2ryg257h14

Ok, I ran everything on his account and I'm posting those logs. I also got the automatic windows updates fixed and downloaded all the updates. I haven't had any problems on my account today. Neither spyware program found anything on his account. Does everything look clean? Thanks for all your help.

    These logs are also clean.

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no protection. They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.
    2. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /uninstall
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /uninstall, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.
    3. Go back to step 6 oof the READ ME and renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it.
    4. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    5. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
    6. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    7. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    8. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders
related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    9. If you are running Win 7, Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • Refer to the cleaning procedures pointed to by step 7 of the READ ME
for your Window version and see the instructions to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
    10. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
