NUTS Help

a couple of weeks ago i installed NUTS from majorgeeks on my PC running xp home edition. the problem i am having is when i did so it converted all my icons to win 2000 icons instead of xp. they look like they are not running in optimized graffix, like they are in 256 colors. i unistalled NUTS but the icons stayed the same. anyone know how to fix this?

 

I'm not at a WinXP box, so I'm going from memory, but I think if you right click the task bar and choose preferences, one of the tabs is "Look and feel" or "layout" or something. On that tab there's a "use true/high color icons" check box. Make sure that's checked.

i checked it out and there is nopthing like that on the machine. there is a properties selection but that doesnt get me anywhere also, any other ideas?

Go to :

START / CONTROL PANEL / DISPLAY / APPEARANCE

Look and check on the left....do you have Windows Xp theme or Windows Classic Running....two boxes below that allows the silver/blue/olive choice......

On the Right : Click the "EFFECTS" Box ....it has a couple of things you may choose in it...including clear and shadow, etc.

See if this isn't what you need.

Be sure and restart...I know it is supposed to do it anyway...but I restart just to make sure....

Oh yeah....when you first click on Display...be sure to look and see what theme is listed in the drop down....make sure it shows WindowsXP....
