nv4 driver error

    I started getting the following error

    The nv4_display driver has stopped working normally.

    After it comes up my computer freezes and I can't do anything. I have to shut down manually.

    I haven't installed anything new lately???

    Any suggestions

    The NV4 driver is the driver for your Nvidia Video Card.
    You should first check to see if the Video Adapter is giving you an error message in your Device Manager.
    Start>Control Panel>System>Hardware>Device Manager
    Look for either question marks or exclamation points.
    Double click on the entry next to the error message (? or ! marks) and it will give you a short description of the error.
