I've searched the forum already and found a lot of threads on BSOD, here is my problem, I can't start windows XP at all without that .sys file. What i am about to try is starting the PC with the driver CD in the optical then manually installing better drivers on start (if it does). Second thing i am going to try from what i read here was disabling the optical in bios until i get proper drivers after startup. If neither of these works is there a way to just reinstate nvgts.sys because it is "missing or corrupt". I've already tried a upgrade/repair install of windows and that didn't work, and i'm currently running at chkdsk /r from repair console.
Anyways i know this is very little information but i am doing this repair semi-remote so any advice off this info would be great. Thanks.

The nvgts.sys is a driver file from NVidia. A bit of research tells me that it's a SATA/RAID driver file. I'd try another safe/repair install, but this time, press F6 for the "F6 floppy" drivers. You can download these files from NVidia, or I can try to provide a link, but without knowing your exact chipset version and/or your motherboard make/model, it would be impossible to provide an accurate driver.
