I have recently had problems with my Nvidia 6600gt GFX card. Just wondering if you guys can help me fix it.

I recently installed ZMatrix for WinXP. After which I started Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne, and played online for a while. After a couple of hours of play my computer then showed the ZMatrix graphic while I was playing and froze the computer. I restarted the computer and was shown ZMatrix text during startup (on the windows logo.) It started up normally, loading all my desired startup programs, and on loading ZMatrix, began to flicker between black and a normal screen. Then it restarted on its own, (as per my error reaction.)

After following that process several times, I started in safemode, and uninstalled ZMatrix, as well as clearing it from my startup processes. However, when I restarted again, I still had the ZMatrix graphic, and had the same error after several moments. I then thought that the problem was with my NVidia display driver. I uninstalled the drivers from safemode, and reinstalled it after a restart. I was then shown lower detailed graphics as well as distorted colors, and had the error still. I did not have the ZMatrix graphic anymore. So then I deleted the partition on my drive, and reinstalled windows xp. (My drives were cluttered and needed a fresh install anyways.) This did not help my error, after updating all my drivers, and bios, I reinstalled my NVidia driver. (Error did not occur until I installed the video driver.) Again I recieved the error. I am wondering if you could help me determine how to fix the problem, or if I should just purchase a new card.

Did you check the event log?
An exact error message or code would be helpful.

    System Event Log:
The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x1000008e (0xc0000005, 0xef3f6884, 0xefb283b8, 0x00000000). A dump was saved in: C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\Mini121007-02.dmp.

    If that helps any.

If you need the blue screen error code just let me know and I will duplicate it again with my restart settings turned off.

The crash may be caused by faulty ram or device driver error.
When Windows crashes with blue screen, it writes a system event 1001 or 1003 and a minidump to the folder \windows\minidump
Check system event 1001 and 1003 and it has the content of the blue screen.
