My desktop has been dead for quite some time. Ive recently got the time to finally start workin on it. Here are the steps ive taken and the wall ive run into.

My original windows vista got eating by a virus. i removed it and installed windows xp media center 2 or something. The machine will boot, but the screen freezes up and it goes "pink" ish.
Im still workin on drivers and such so the problem could very well be there.

Im running an 8400 gs graphics card.

Are there known issues with this?

also the graphics card isnt original.. there was a graphics chip in there originally. besides the ram everything else is original to when i bought it at best buy. (2-3 years ago) anyone have any ideas?

Since Vista was originally installed, that's what you should try to install again. Perhaps not all your hardware works with XP.
What is the brand and model?
