nvidia acting stupid....

    whenever i allow my computer to start up with the programs

    "nvcpl"
    "nwiz"
    "nvmctray"

    running, my computer boots and gets to my desktop, but after a couple seconds, the screen gets messed up and then the computer crashes. without these programs running at startup, everything is just fine.

    i want these programs to run at startup, though! what do i do??

    iv'e already checked, i have the latest drivers from nvidia.

    Hi Speculant


    They are the nvidia icon in your sys~trays files ( Display Driver Service ), TBH I always remove these from startup as they are not needed IMO, but will be restored each time you update your GFX drivers, so need deleting again,


    What Windows version you have and it that fully upto date?

    Also could completly uninstall your Nvidia graphics driver only as installing over the top of older drivers can leave old files behind ...... get this app Nvidia Nasty File Remover , goto Device Manager and uninstall the Display Driver, reboot, run that Nasty File remover app and remove the Nividia GFX files left over then re-install latest driver.

    nevermind, i ran NFR, and deleted the files, reinstalled the latest drivers, and the problem fixed itself

    Good, glad that cleanout of all nvidia files as helped fix the driver issue, at times they leave the odd old driver dll and this causes corruption, many times a clean out helps.
