nvidia geforce 6200 oc agp 265mb ques.

hey guys, i have a question ok, last weekend i bought the bfg nvidia geforce 6200 oc agp 265mb and was wondering, what are the best settings to set the card at to get the best picture, and the best fastes performance?

 

Its a low end card with too much ram, I would suggest going into the 6200 options in display properties > settings > advanced> Geforce 6200 tab, and go to Performance and quality settings, Have Antialiasing to Off, Anisotropic to Off Image settings to high perf. and Vsync to off

 

Forgot to mention, go to download the newest set of drivers @ nvidia.com , uninstall your current drivers (reboot) and install the downloaded drivers(reboot), IN THAT ORDER.

 

actually, vertical synchronisation should be turned on, unless ur benchmarking a game engine... or else u might experience some tearing

you can also try out the Omega Drivers and use the Performance setting to gain some more frames. another thing u can try is to overclock it a little and/or unlock some pixelshaders and pipes but im not sure if u can actually unlock anything on a 6200 and dont overclock it if its using a passive cooler.

did u google for the omega drivers? probably not cause u would know then.. google is pretty useful for finding info on stuff...

a passive cooler is a cooler without a fan on the heatsink, therefore being passive cause its not actively doing anything...

 

Beside download newst driver, you should DL rivatuner for OCing, mod the GPU and ram's heatsink, opening more pipe lines by using rivatuner, but most of 6200 VGA card can not be get more pipes or it will be artifact after more pipes to be done.

You will be careful if your Vga card get bad artifacct by overheat and when you mod GPU heatsink avoiding broken core at corner

 

I havnt had vsync on since my gf 2 / voodoo 5500 days, even thought you can "experience tearing" I don't think its noticable.

 

i get it all the time, especially after buying the 6800GT, i guess its just too fast
