As many of you have probably seen, there's already tons of reviews out there for the new GTX275 series of video cards from nVidia. But when are these cards going to hit the shelves? They're listed at Newegg but they're not in stock, and even many of the reviewers stated they had problems even getting review samples and reference cards for their reviews. So.... does anybody have a "shelf date"? When will the GTX275 series be available through retail (or wholesale) channels?
    :confused

(I was close to getting a GTX260, but then the GTX275 reviews exploded all over the review 'scene' last week, so now I'm kind of waiting)

I did a little research and it seems the GTX275 was originally slated to be released April 2, then it was moved to April 6 (today), then moved once again to April 13. However, Newegg now has an "Add To Cart" active next to an EVGA GTX275; and it just appeared in the past 6 hours or so. There's four or five other brands that have no "Add To Cart" button. I'm not sure what this means. I haven't checked today, but as of yesterday, no other e-tailers had GTX275's even listed at all, let alone for sale. This includes, Tiger Direct, ZipZoomFly, CompUSA.com, TheNerds.com, and several others..... if anyone cares, I will post 'updates'... well, you'll get the updates whether you care or not. LOL ;)

(the one by eVGA appears to actually be for sale; it's model 896-P3-1170-AR )

It appears that Newegg has added a 2nd GTX275. Now the BFG model BFGEGTX275896OCE has an "Add to cart" button.... this just came up in the past 5 hours or so.... so it looks like these cards are SLOWLY making it into retail channels....

It's now less than 12 hours since my previous post, and Newegg no longer has the "Add to cart" button for the BFG card I mentioned above. Odd. The EVGA card however, still has the "Add to cart" button, so I'm assuming that Newegg does have 'em in stock and for sale. If anybody has actually purchased a GTX275 from Newegg (or anyplace else for that matter) please post!!!

I will continue to post info about the availability of the GTX275 until it is readily available in standard retail channels. If anybody else has any news, feel free to add to the thread. I'm really jonesin' for one of these cards and I really want to know when/where they're available.

I emailed an NVidia sales rep, and he said they are available in retail channels, and provided links to Newegg (which I have already posted) and to mWave (link: http://www.mwave.com/mwave/DeepSearch_v2.asp?scriteria=gtx275&ALL=y&TP= ) which has a single card, not in stock. The email I got from NVidia was very short, and offered no explanation as to why these cards are so sparse on the scene.... actually, I don't think it's NVidia's fault, it's probably the OEMs (eVGA, BFG, etc) that are slow to the punch.

A new model is now available at Newegg, a GTX275 from Sparkle (link: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814187073 ). From what I can tell, these cards are entering the retail market at $259.99US even though an NVidia press release said the cards would retail for $229-$249US. I'm really hungry for one of these cards, and it's all I can do to wait a while until some rebates and price reductions hit. On a bright note, it appears that the GTX260 is becoming cheaper and cheaper, and in some situations where the price isn't dropping, the cards include Call Of Duty 5 or Far Cry 2, or BOTH!!! The GTX260 is nothing to scoff at, so I may just grab one. But I keep thinking back to about a year ago when I bought a new 9600GT; I paid $169 (and never got the $20 rebate from Asus) and a month later the cards were at $149, and now they're around $100-$129.
