I been having some problems installing windows XP home on two striped 160GB hard drives. During setup, XP says it cannot detect any hard drives.

Here is what I've done so far. I downloaded NVraid drivers from NVidia's website. I used thier autodetect function with a pre-existing installation of Windows XP on the computer, so I think I got the right drivers. I then read the instructions provided with the drivers to make a driver floppy disc (basically to copy the entire IDE/sataraid folder to the floppy).

I then read on my motherboard's manual (asus m2n-sli deluxe) how to set up a RAID. I was able to set up the raid before reading the manual, but I read it anyway when it wouldn't work. I enabled RAID in the BIOS (not the JMicron one) and then enabled RAID on SATA 1 and 2. I then pressed F10 upon startup to enter the Nvidia raid setup screen and set the two 160GB HDD into a striped raid, 128KB blocks. I also set it up as bootable, as the instructions said I should do if I wan't to install windows on them.

I then press F6 during the windows setup and load the Nvidia raid and nforce storage drivers, as the manual says to do. As far as I can tell, I should see them when setup asks where to install windows. When I start the computer and press F8 to select boot device, the computer see's the raid drives as SCSI seagate HDD.

Well.........as far as I can tell from reading the manuals, I shouldn't be having any problems, but I am. Any help on the matter would be greatly appreciated. Here is my computer set up if anyone needs it.

    Motherboard: ASUS m2n-sli deluxe
    Processor: AMD 6400+
    RAM: 4 GB DDR2 800Mhz
    Graphics: Geforce 8800 GTS 512MB

    Hard Drives:
200 GB Sata -normally disconnected when i try to setup windows on RAID
    2 x 160 GB Sata (RAID drives)

I'm going to try installing windows on a second hard drive and clone the installation to the RAID. I would rather do it the right way, but I'll see how it turns out.

nm, I figured it out. I was using the wrong version of drivers. I can't believe it took me that long to figure it out.
