For some reason when I start O&O it says the service isn't started, I start it (services.msc) and it still gives the same message. Why?

    Hi

    What Windows version you using?

    What version O&O?

Also what is the full error message and if it has this in the line anywhere No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it then disable your Firewall and open O&O if it works your Firewall is blocking O&O, this is a common issue, while O&O doesnt connect to the internet it does use TCP/IP to connect so needs allowing past your firewall so check the firewall sofdtware list and allow O&O.

Also in Services, did you just click Start on the O&O service or did you also set the Startup Type to Automatic? if not then do so.

Also possible last resort is to uninstall it and re-install

Windows 7 RC (should be using final soon) and yes the error is something (if not the exact same as) like what you said. And i'm should be using the latest, I just downloaded it yesterday.

hmm I dont know if maybe your download was currupt but if its a defragger you after may i suggest quicksys i use it all the time on my system(probably due for a defrag come to think of it rofl) but heres a link

other than that all i can say is redownload and reinstall the one you already have and hopefully its only a currupt file

also where did you download it? if you can get it from the publishers site

I don't think the file is corrupt, my (OS) & or something just doesn't like it. I'm sure I had got it running a few months ago . . .

Have you checked your firewall? as I have O&O and thats the main cause of it coming up with that error.

I think I know what's wrong, I have some things in the turn windows features on and off set to off instead of on.
