The north bridge is loosing its marbles prolly due to overheating ...Its hard to keep the core cool with a chip that big ..the core is the size of a CPU die but the chip is ~1"square and it takes time for the heat to work its way out so the core is always hotter then the top of the chip. and i had to overvolt it a good bit to get 533fsb.. but right now its unstable at 400FSB let alown the 533 it used to run http://forums.majorgeeks.com/images/smilies/frown.gif..Oh whell i have a laptop now ( a compaq armada 1750 ) and i can play HL 1 ANYWARE http://forums.majorgeeks.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif and doom legacy runs vary well to...to bad it only has a rage pro at 4 MB ...thats a huge bottle neck for gaming..

used to mess around with overclocking but these days I dont bother as CPUs are fast enough in default and I need stability over a small increase in speed.

I have a couple rigs OCed, neither are my main system's

The one in my sig, Built for the soul purpose of OCing an little gaming.
Soon to be running in the 2500 to 2600mhz range and over 500fsb, if it dont burst into flames first, Working on a few mod's & better cooling.
Ive already had her at at 12 x 218 at 2616mhz using some cheap memory but Hot.
Going to OC the graphics card too!

The other, an old IBM aptiva, stock is 333 mhz, she's flying at 350mhz via jumpers/switches, memory is pc66 running at 100fsb use as a test rig, sometimes open irristable E-mails with it, it just wont die but prone to reformat & reinstall (also makes good foot rest when leaning back surfing the web)
