OC'ing a 9600 pro.. need some advice

hey all,

i downloaded various tweaks for this card, (rage3d, rivatuner...etc) when i over clock it a fair bit and run games, or benchmarks i get wierd spikes, and lines occasionally appearing, more of them appear the more i over clock, i take it this means im OC'ing too much, but im really tight on cash, is there any other way to boost my fps up in games???

 

Radeon 9600 Pro should be enough, however micro-chip (CPU) and RAM let you down!

What are your current O/C specs?

Asus a7n8x deluxe mobo
1gb ram
120g hdd
460w psu

need anything else?

 

1 gig of RAM(DDR 400, PC 3200) is better than 512 in your sig!

You wanna tweak your card!....but what have you done to improve the rest?

No point if you have'nt got more juice!....no what i mean?

yea i know what ya mean, can only stretch a band so far b4 it breaks...

i have OC'd my cpu from 1.9ghz to 2.2ghz, but thats very unstable, plus i only have stock cooling on it, other than that, i dont know any other ways to improve the rest.

 

The sad fact remains...to really be better, you must upgrade!
