OCing question?

ok i have the nvidia geforce 6200 AGP4/X 256mb OC graphics card, and i dled the rivatuner, and i was wondering if OCing is bad? and if so, how much should i oc it? or do i need to? i dont even kno what ocing does, i just kno it goes faster, someone please help me. thank you

 

what i can tell you is that by no means oc by more than 5 hz at a time...i ocd it by a 100 hz one time cuz i didnt know wtf i was doing...and yea...it took me a day to fix it- video card would die within milliseconds of starting in windows (i ocd the video card)

 

Run rivatuner after it finish detecting, you will see and follow the attached picture

 

Sorry for hearing about that, but it rarely happen however you do something wrong with your VGA card.

 

some 6200's go up to 6600 levels, just that the ram isnt the same as the 6600

 

Reading this thread makes me regret buying a 6600 GT....

Do you guys think I should risk OCing my 6600 GT ? I'm buying a Zalman VF700 if that'll do the job at keeping the card stable.

 

Yeah, 6200 use DDR1@>600 and 6600GT@>1k use DDR3
