I have a strange behavior in my computer. When I highlight a word to rename it will delete the words and something I am not sure what to say it is the ++++ sign keep moving on the words that I wanted to rename continuously, even I did not do anything it stop after a few lines. I delete the plus sign that came out but it come back even you do nothing. This behavior also happen when you want to type something in the address bar. I am using Firefox v24. My OS. XP Pro. SP3. ESET antivirus did not detect when during startup scan, also malwarebytes did not detect unusual behavior. Thanks.

    Greetings, pengwah.

Did the symptoms suddenly appear or has this been a gradual progression?

Is this a desktop or a laptop? If it's a desktop try replacing the keyboard to rule out hardware.

And, do you see the same symptoms when booted into Safe Mode and with any browser add-ons disabled?

Thanks for all who reply. This thing happen at time only and I am using a usb mouse and ps2 keyboard to navigate the work. My computer is a desktop PC, it happen during clicking a folder, when you highlight some words in note pad or word pad and when you try to type something in the browser address bar even when you click the address bar, never try safe mode yet. Hope to seek further help.

    Good morning.

Can you post screenshots illustrating your symptoms? Also, try another mouse - a bad mouse or USB port can produce strange problems.

I agree. Sounds like a hardware problem (graphics?).
Simplest thing is to check the computer connections for the mouse and keyboard. Also check both ends of the video cable.
Make sure the connections are secure.

Do you shut down the computer when you finish using it, or do you Hibernate the computer?
