Hard to explain this problem :S
First of all there was problems login in to msn, ebay and banking sites. It said that the page was unsecure. So I figured it was a virus. I ran Malwarebytes and Combofix and still the same problem. I then went about doing a XP install / repair. Problem has now gone away and I am able to login to sites again, although now there is a strange display problem.
Desktop and control panel all look correct and even sites like google look correct. Although the header image of http://www.easypcworkshop.co.uk will not display and also windows update site looks very odd. I asumed it was a browser issue and installed IE8 and same problem. I then noticed it was happening on XP features such as user accounts.
    Attached is some screenies.http://www.easypcworkshop.co.uk/images/1.BMP http://www.easypcworkshop.co.uk/images/2.BMP

I have done all Windows updates and reset all IE settings inc security etc

    Can anyone please help?

I'm not sure exactly what your question is, but I suggest you optimize images before posting them in a forum. You put two huge image files, each about 2.3MB, in your post and there was some delay in the images being displayed when I first clicked on your topic. There's simply no need for those images to be so huge. I put one of them in MS Paint and saved it as a .PNG file. The size was only 165KB.

Oh I apologize for the images! I didnt really think about that Sorry!

My question is does anyone have any more ideas to fix the problem? It does not display images on websites correctly, and menus and boxes are just not looking correct. There is defo something wrong :(

Have you tried updating the drivers for your graphics card?

Yes I have tried updating the drivers. Infact without the driver the problem is still there, so it must be a windows setting somewhere

I also cannot remove the coloured box around the desktop icon text. Infact with all the performance settings un ticked nothing changes :S
I think the problem is related
