Odd problem with LOOKUP in EXCEL

    I'm having a problem using the LOOKUP function in excel. Its real simple, its suppose to look up a letter grade, and return the GPA for is. When it looks up C, it should return 2.0, but it returns 2.7! :eek:

    *note - D5 is where the lookup function is

    any ideas?

    we'll i don't know much about excel, but it looks to me like you did the lookup thing wrong.

    whats wrong with it? it works fine up until C, then it messed up

    when i do
    Code:
    =VLOOKUP(D3,A1:B11,2)
    it still returns 2.7 :(

    as i said i don't know much about excel, but i have worked with it alot, so it must be something wrong with the equation you wrote.(maybe the D3 should be outside the ( ) sorry i don't know the name.)
