Trying to hook up a used car dealership with a program and a networked drive. All 'puters on XP pro SP3, all connected to a switch. I get a long error, (sorry, don't remember all) of it when I try to setup or share a folder.

'The network is not accessable. You do not have permission to use network resources. Contact the Administrator of the server. Network path not found.'

New one on me, all computers are running as admin. The program Frazer? is installed on each one, and works fine, but they need the customer data to be accessable by all the computers in the 4 computer office.

I am thinking this is some kind of winxp permissions problem, not sure. I was only there a little while today, thought it would be an easy fix. The software is this: http://www.frazer.biz/

XP just seems to be unhappy about the network.

    Thanks

A couple of quick things you could try.

Turn off Simple File Sharing, its in Control Panel > Folder Options > View, then Under Advanced Options at the very bottom of the list is a tick box that says something like Use simple file sharing, untick it.

Turn off windows firewall on each of the machines.

At least these may tell you where the problem is lying. You don't have to leave these settings like that, its just to test where the problem may lie.
