I have a Linksys wireless router that is managing my internet surfing across my wired network. I bought a new PC "Win XP" and it can see other wireless networks but not mine. I have enabled wireless on the router and in the "advanced" part of the Linksys setup I have taken all the defaults. I am using a Netgear USB wireless NIC on the PC. Also I have tried all this in the same room 4 feet from the router so distance and interference isn't an issue.

Check and see if you have MAC filtering enabled. If so, then you will need to add the MAC address the Netgear adapter. Also make sure on the new pc/netgear adapter, that you have entered the correct SSID in the network setup.
