OE 6 notification/warning box when closing application

...running XPsp2 and installed that OE 6 Microsoft update this week. When closing OE 6 I get the box with option to free up disk space by compacting messages, ok or cancel. It appears each time I close OE 6. My app is nearly empty of messages anyway. How long will this notice persist? Will it stop appearing after I close the application a sufficient number of times? It's annoying.

 

If you run the compacter, does it show up again?

 

No, I was hesitant to run the compactor, thinking it not necessary considering all I have in OE are 4 brief messages sitting it deleted items. Think I should do it as the fix anyway? Thanks.

 

Resolved I think. I compacted the messages, only took a half second. Thanks again.

 

No problem. The compacter, merely compresses any "free space" that is within any .dbx files that are within your email files.

It does not delete anything......Within my experience.....

Unfortunately, this is forced upon users (you and I) whenever OE (MS), thinks it is neccesary.....for the benefit of us (You, me, and your friend).

I use Mozilla Thunderbird (trunk), which never has this particular issue.....
