OE cannot find mail on server

Using OE6 under XP Home and connecting with ADSL on HP Pavilion desktop. About 10% of e-mails can be seen, read, printed and deleted using Mailwasher Pro or Wanadoo Webmail but are not seen by OE6.

Disabling firewall, virus checker, pop-upstopper made no difference.
These stuck mails are not large and contain no attachments.

Succeeded in seeing and downloading these files using same setup on my HP Pavilion notebook. Comparison shows no differences in setting for OE6 or IE6.

Has anyone experienced this problem? Are there any suggestions for possible apps or settings which may cause this?

 

A little confused......but from what I understand, you are using OE to check email from 2 different ISP's? One works OK 10% of the time, The other doesn't?

But on your laptop you can see everything no problem?

No. I am using only one ISP. I check my mail first with Mailwasher , an anti-spam program which shows the waiting mail in text format but leaves the mail on the ISP's server. When I try to read the mail with OE it fails to see 10% of the mail. This happens only using my desktop but not with my notebook but with basically the same software on each machine.
