OE6-Another Instance Running Problem

    Hi all -- I searched and found a thread on this, but none of the answers is viewable!
    I can't open Outlook Express 6. I get the "another instance is running" error message. I've tried everything -- restart, cold boot, running a virus scan, sys restore to a date 2 weeks ago, removing AVG antivirus because the error log implicates AVG (now I have no AVG, so that was STUPID on my part). I've tried downloading to overwrite the existing version -- no can do. WHAT is going on and WHAT can I do, please? A thousand aunts (tia's)
